4/4-4/18 Prayer Points

Opening Prayer: This past month has been both unsettling and challenging. Many of our friends are facing illness or loss of a job; we might be facing illness or hurt financially. The world and especially America is fighting hard to come up with solutions so that our lives may get back to normal, but until then, let us remember the one great solution. The best and the only real solution, Jesus Christ. Let's meditate on that today

1. Let's pray together for the doctors and nurses who are working so hard for all of us right now. As we wait in our homes, they go to work every day to help be apart of the process of healing at this time. We honor them in God's name and are grateful that He has sent men and women those talents and gifts the world so desperately needs. As they put themselves in danger everyday, we pray protection over them, as it says in the Word, "The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them ALL," (Psalm 34:1).

2. Let's pray together as one voice for the COMPLETE recovery of the countries and people affected by the COVID19. We pray now for God's favor on every individual and land that has been affected. We pray for China, Italy, England, and everywhere else that, in a few months, this disease will be wiped from their homes and our here in America. As it is said in Psalm 20:1, "May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you." As well as Psalm 46:1, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."

3. Let's continue to pray for our government as they make choices and bear the weight of the people on their shoulders, especially President Trump. People are always willing to criticize and belittle any progress being made, especially in the way of our president. Let us not allow that to stop us from being diligent in praying and cheering him on as he leads this country in this unexpected pandemic. "My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior— from violent people you save me. I called to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and have been saved from my enemies," (2 Samuel 22:3-4).

Praise Report: Today, let us also spend some time looking at some positive things and praise God not just for what he WILL do but what he HAS done. The World Health Organization (WHO) officials now say there are now 20 COVID19 vaccines in development. People everywhere are sharing face masks and teaching others how to make them. More than 100,000 people have recovered from the virus. Now THAT is some good news. Psalm 121:1-2 reminds us where we should put our focus and who our Helper is, "I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth."
