2/22-3/7 Prayer Points

Opening prayer: The past couple of weeks have held major decisions for our country and the world overall. While we may feel distant from these, we thank God that He is directly involved in all things. We pray that God’s will would reign and ask Him to show us how we can play a role in each of these circumstances.

  1. Let’s continue to pray for the victims of the coronavirus and for a cure to be found. The coronavirus that originated in China has continued to spread and infect individuals. We thank God that “by his wounds we are healed” and we ask for that healing on every person dealing directly or indirectly with this disease (Isaiah 53:5; NIV).
  2. Let’s pray over the primary elections leading up to November 2020. Iowa and New Hampshire have both held primaries for the presidential election in the past couple of weeks, and the rest of the states will soon follow, starting with Nevada. We pray God’s will over these elections and thank God for the role we play in voting because we know that “faith without works is dead” (James 2:26; NKJV).
  3. Let’s pray for peace between the United States and the Taliban. On Monday, February 17, it was announced that a peace deal between the two will be signed by the end of the month. We know that Jesus is the “Prince of Peace” and so we ask that God would be with both sides in order to bring about true peace and restoration to all areas affected (Isaiah 9:6;  NIV).
