1/16-1/23 Prayer Points

Opening Prayer: Biblically, the number “20” signifies completion. As we are entering into the year “2020”, we thank God that we are entering into a year of completion and a year of a double portion manifestation of His promises over our lives and in our government. “Lord, we thank you for the completion and double portion this year. We surrender our lives and wills to yours and ask that you lead us in the path that you have for us in this new year and season. We thank you that you are giving us endurance and determination to complete those things that you have for us to finish this year. Please give us the vision and tenacity to carry out your will and fulfill the Great Commission and Greater Works this year. We love you, Lord, Amen.”

  1. Let’s pray and agree for an end to the wildfires in Australia. Instead of rising temperatures and high winds, we can pray like Elijah, who “was a human being, even as we are. He prayed earnestly that it wouldn’t rain… for three and a half years and it did not rain.” Jam 5:17 (NIV). Elijah then prayed again, and it rained! May the Lord send clouds and rain to refresh the entire continent.
  2. Let’s pray for justice and vindication for the President in the impeachment proceedings. Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, will release the impeachment resolution to the Senate this week. Let’s declare, “No weapon forged against [President Trump] will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you” Isa 54:17 (NIV).
  3. Let’s pray God’s will over the conflict with Iran and peace for our troops. After the United States drone strike that killed Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleimani on January 3, Iran has raised the Red Flag of War, symbolizing war and retaliation, over the mosque in Jamkaran. Although they have retaliated with strikes that attacked United States troops, likely, Iran will not stop with such attacks until the flag has been taken down. We stand with the decision of the Trump Administration to attack Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleimani due to large scale plots by Iran and the spilling of American blood. We declare that “The [United States] is the body of Christ and satan has no power over us. We overcome evil with good” Rom12:21 and 1 Cor 12:27. We thank the Lord for “He has delivered [the United States troops] from the evils of this world for it is God’s will” Galatians 1:4. We thank you, Lord, that you are the “Lord of Heaven’s armies and you, the God of Israel, are America’s fortress” Psalm 46:7 (NLT).
  4. Let’s pray for an end to the earthquakes in Puerto Rico and safety for the families. Since December 28, 2019, Puerto Rico has experienced more than 500 earthquakes which have triggered deaths, injuries, and a loss of electricity for many on the island. We thank God that He is the “refuge and strength [for Puerto Rico], an ever-present help in trouble” Psalm 46:1. Just as Christ said “Peace Be Still” to the storm and it calmed, we say “Peace Be Still” to the earthquakes in Puerto Rico!
